DescriptionDay 28. Thirty-One days of Star Wars (2024 edition) continues!I'm going to close out the month with some Doctor Aphra pages. To start, why not just go straight to the Indiana Jones feel found throughout volume 1 of the early adventures of our favorite space archaeologist. The galaxy's shadiest archaeologist is back doing what she does best: busting into alien temples to steal horrifying weapons for huge profit. 'Nuff said. Two art teams worked on this issue Wilton Santos/Marc Deering and Caspar Wijngaard/Don Ho. This is an inked board by Mark over Wilton's blue lines. Randomly finding Marc's table at Heroes Con in 2023 was an unexpected surprise which resulted in several additions to my Doctor Aphra portfolio. Thanks Marc! MTFBWY Social/Sharing |

The scene starts to crumble

They are not pasted on the board. The space station is hand inked over blue lines. I think the planets and parts of the starfield may have been digitally inked and then printed with the blue lines for the rest of the page. So would that constitute a digital stat? Or a partial monopanel? We are in a new age of OA my friend. I think new definitions are on the horizon.

you classified it as an interior page but come on that's a splash!!! lol. amazing Aphra and Indy homage image. Might be the best in the whole series!!!

Technically a two panel page, or a splash with an inset box. But yeah, it is pretty splashy.

yeah im a stickler for "the rules" on my own gallery when it comes to those 1 inset panel type pages but that top "panel" is poster worthy haha

You know, I'm pretty partial to the aviator helmet and glasses look on women. This Doctor Aphra chick is alright! Oh, and it's specifically a splash page with an inset panel.

I have no idea who Doctor Aphra is, but I love the mashup of Star Wars and Indiana Jones!!! Great 80% splash page!!!
