DescriptionThis Bloom County Sunday strip appeared in print six weeks before I had my first “real” job — with a salary that certainly that did NOT benefit from any sort of Reagan tax cut.And yet this specific strip about “mixed emotions” remained burned in my brain forever. When we (IDW Publishing) added Bloom County reprints to our line-up around 2009, I asked if Berkley still had this specific strip, and if so, would he sell it to me. He still had it… and he gifted it to me instead. A gift I treasure, and one that I am indeed very thankful for. (Finally took it to the framers this week.) Happy 41st Birthday, Bloom County! https://greggoldsteincomicartgallery.com/berkeley-breathed-mixed-emotions/ Social/Sharing |

Berkley certainly gifted you more than Reagan did!

See, if Reagan hadn't gifted the wealthy with his giant tax cuts, Breathed never would have written this strip, and it would never have been burned into your brain, and you wouldn't have asked if Breathed still had it, and then he wouldn't have gifted it to you. Therefore...you DID benefit from Reagan's tax cuts. I guess, even though Reagan committed treason by making a deal with Iran to keep the hostages to help him get elected, he really was the friend of the little guy.
