Description

Don't have many pages of Kodi in Seattle but think this page plays well off of page 72 - Kodi losing the only remembrance he has of Katya - the drawing Katya gave him before she left, which has lead him to Seattle

French collector buddy turned me on to this beautiful book about finding something you love, losing it, and then finding it again. While it's a book for young readers - about a girl and her bear - it's a lovely story for any age.

I love Jared's watercolors! I love the way he paces moments. I really love how his characters are designed with basic shapes, while the backdrops have a more painterly quality.

After reading the book I emailed with Jared, hoping there might be some examples left to purchase. He was kind with his time and in the end I ended up getting "many moments" that tell most of Katya's and Kodi's story.

Jared was recently nominated for two Eisner awards - (Best Publication for Early Readers and Best Painter/Multimedia Artist) for Kodi! Well deserved!!

Now Eisner nominated and winner of Reuben Divisional 2021 Award from National Cartoonists Society in the category of �Best Graphic Novel� for Kodi

Such a simple, lovely page. The lighting, the just-right drawing on the ground, the feeling of loss as it's snatched away.... This doesn't require words to be an excellent example of story-telling. What a great addition to your collection.
