Description

The look of confusion and alarm in that first panel - the perspective Jared uses in the second panel and sense of movement that's created - Katya's sadness and that last panel as the plane takes Katya away. Such a sad moment that is punctuated by page 67 all the more!

French collector buddy turned me on to this beautiful book about finding something you love, losing it, and then finding it again. While it's a book for young readers - about a girl and her bear - it's a lovely story for any age.

I love Jared's watercolors! I love the way he paces moments. I really love how his characters are designed with basic shapes, while the backdrops have a more painterly quality.

After reading the book I emailed with Jared, hoping there might be some examples left to purchase. He was kind with his time and in the end I ended up getting "many moments" that tell most of Katya's and Kodi's story.

Jared was recently nominated for two Eisner awards - (Best Publication for Early Readers and Best Painter/Multimedia Artist) for Kodi! Well deserved!!

Now Eisner nominated and winner of Reuben Divisional 2021 Award from National Cartoonists Society in the category of �Best Graphic Novel� for Kodi

When I bought my pages from Jared, this is one I strongly considered. Nice group of pages you got from this marvelous book.
