DescriptionNew commission: the latest issue of my Golden Age Team-Up Project series (The Brave And The Bold #206), pairing Batman with the Red Bee. Art by Bambos Georgiou, adapted from the cover to Marvel Two-In-One #87, original art by Ron Wilson and Chic Stone.1942 - and with Batman captured by Axis villains, his All-Star Squadron comrades search for him. Hawkman and Hawkgirl keep a watchful eye whilst on aerial patrol; Manhunter breaks up Bund meetings to extract information from the Nazi sympathisers; and Air Wave monitors radio broadcasts for any intelligence about Batman's whereabouts. But it's the Red Bee, following a tip-off about unusual activity at a derelict film studio on the outskirts of Gotham City, who strikes it lucky, spotting Zyklon speeding from the abandoned building. Sneaking inside, the Red Bee finds Batman in combat with Sumo The Samurai on a Roman Empire film-set, watched by Night, Fog and a handful of Axis agents. As Batman stumbles, Rick Raleigh unleashes his trained bee to attack Sumo - but after that proves ineffective, he launches himself into the fight! Together, the two heroes start to turn the tide in their favour - until Night and Fog join the battle! The Red Bee is choked by Fog's noxious vapours and is knocked unconscious behind a fallen piece of the set, while Batman, blinded by the darkness cast by Night, falls to a swipe from the flat of Sumo's blade. But as the giant Japanese villain is about to strike the final blow - Zyklon returns, speeding into the mock arena to bring the battle to an end with word from Baron Blitzkrieg. As the Red Bee struggles back to consciousness, the villains drag his fellow hero away - for the Axis have plans for Batman! To be continued - next issue! Social/Sharing |

The use of the 40's logo and Batman is a great choice! You don't see it drawn that well unless it's by someone who studied what made it look so appealing.

Bambos has done a great job on the 1940s Batman logo - and this project has sent me down a lot of rabbit-holes hunting out the logos for the Golden Age guest-stars!
