DescriptionNew commission: the latest issue of my Golden Age Team-Up Project series (The Brave And The Bold #205), pairing Batman with the Guardian. Art by Bambos Georgiou, adapted from the cover of Captain America #229, original art by Keith Pollard and Bob McLeod.1942 - and after Batman decodes the final set of papers retrieved from Baron Blitzkrieg's lair (in #202) he discovers an Axis plot to stir up anti-war sentiment. Travelling to Metropolis' Suicide Slum, Batman observes an isolationist march being organised by a known Bundist - and when a scuffle breaks out between the marchers and bystanders, policeman Jim Harper is caught between the two factions! Knocked to the ground, and crawling into a nearby alley, Harper swiftly dons the uniform of the Guardian, and breaks up the fight as some other cops arrive. The Newsboy Legion tip him off that one of the march's organisers had fled - and that they'd seen the Batman trailing him.The Guardian sets off on pursuit, catching up with his fellow All-Star outside an abandoned printing plant. Via a skylight, the two heroes see the Axis sympathiser reporting back - to Nazi villains Night, Fog and Zyklon! The impetuous Guardian leaps into the fray, and as the three villains start to overwhelm him, Batman joins in, temporarily beating them back - but Zyklon's speed proves too much for him, and he's knocked unconscious. The Guardian is similarly beaten and knocked out of a window into a dumpster full of discarded paper. When he recovers consciousness a few moments later and re-enters the derelict plant, the villains have vanished - and taken Batman with them! To be continued - next issue! Social/Sharing |

Phenomenal! The commission nails the action with incredible accuracy for the feel of the original!
