DescriptionWhile I usually focus on published pieces in my collection, this piece jumped out at me when I saw that it was available. I’ve loved Steve Rude’s work since I read the entirety of Nexus while getting over the flu back in 1999 (although a part of me will unfortunately always associate that series with being sick given the circumstances surrounding when I read it). This is another piece that I’m framing to hang on the wall, so I’m scanning and posting it before it’s behind glass. It’s done with watercolor and colored pencils. My thanks to Wally Harrington for parting with it.Social/Sharing |

A spectacular Rude piece! Though just like your own "mixed feelings" on it, seeing this is also reminding me how pissed off I was that I didn't get my order in on time for the Rude Hulk vs Superman page in Albert Moy's art drop earlier this week! Aaaaaaarrrrrgh!

My sympathies - that was a pretty cool page. Hopefully another will turn up before long.

"Here's Kara!" Man, whoever was behind that hatch that pissed her off is about to have a very bad day. Super bad. Steve Rude is such a talent. I love how he draws and poses, it's all got such an iconic feel, and always exuding power. Great find. Congrats!

Wow, can't believe I missed this. Especially since Wally's gallery is on my Watch list. Still need to add a nice Rude piece to my collection. Congrats not just on picking this up, but for getting to it before I could. LOL

LOL! I was actually waiting on line at a CVS when I first saw it, and I sent Wally a message from the parking lot to see if it was still available. Just goes to show that you never know when and where you'll be when a piece of artwork may pop up.

This is fantastic, Michael! Amazing colors and all the charm and life that are hallmarks of Mr. Rude's work. Thank you sharing the great scan before putting it behind glass! Awesome pick-up.

This is a really gorgeous Rude painting. I like it better than his published Supergirl covers. Great pickup!

supergirl has such a wide variety of commissions almost no 2 of them are on the same dynamic. now looking at this piece by Steve Rude. i would say Steve may have taken all of the dynamics for this piece. it's so rare to see supergirl be the hero that gets placed for her cousin so this is a real treat. congrats on a super win good buddy.

I think those hot orange splashes and drops are meant to be something else. If thats how a Kryptonian pisses I want to be nowhere in the vicinity. God, its beautifully painted. Steves great.
