DescriptionMy first art receipt of 2026 and it’s really set the tone for the year for me.Nick Runge’s online presence focuses on his figure painting work which he describes as “abstract realism”. It was in 2025 that I noticed he started painting some comic characters and I was blown away. Fortunately he had an open slot for me and I had to go with Mystique. The end result is delicate, sensual, moody and deadly. This baby will find a nice comfy spot on the wall. Happy New Year to me (and everyone else too, I suppose)! Social/Sharing |

Nick's work is exceptional and this is a jaw droppingly beautiful Mystique piece, solid start to 2026. congrats on the great commission result! I def gotta check out more of his work online.

The bad news? It might almost be impossible for you to find a more beautiful piece of art in 2026. The good news? You've still got 360 days left to do it. Good luck. Although if you just decide to spend the next 11 months and 26 days staring at this jewel of a piece, I don't think anyone could blame you.

Wow! So exciting to see Runge is back to painting comic book work again! I was so disappointed when he suddenly decided to stop doing it several years ago, because I felt he was literally one of the best painters in the business. Seeing this piece, he hasn't missed a beat!

Wow! That's so amazing!!! I love the balance between that fairy and romantic flair and the ferocity of the character. Superb colors election.

Man did he crush this one! You can see he was really into this one, besides the delicacy of the face its all the added details in the gun and the trees. When I think your Mystique collection can't get much better, you find another artist who levels it up. What a stunner, congrats.( and yes I am both a biased fan and collector of NIcks work haha)
