DescriptionThe Brave and the Bold #154 Pg. 6Pencils and Inks by Jim Aparo Written by Bob Haney No Batman OA collection is complete (subjectively, of course) without a Jim Aparo example, and I was super happy to add this one to my collection. It showcases Batman in every single panel, doing very Batty things! Social/Sharing |

You never go wrong with an Aparo Batman. Especially when Batman is in every panel. Great example, love the first panel the most.

"No Batman OA collection is complete (subjectively, of course) without a Jim Aparo example.."
Brother, that is an understatement! Assuming, of course, by 'complete' one understands they need to own at least one example from every major Batman artist across the character's history. Lots of Bats in every panel here, so kudos!

Aparo will always be THE definitive Batman artist as far as I'm concerned. Congrats on adding this wonderful page to your collection!

I am not familiar with Achilles, as I was not a regular Batman reader, but did he always think in rhyming verse?

Good question, I've had very little exposure to the character myself even as a Batman fan/reader. the thought bubble on this page was the only dialogue he had in the issue too as the story went all over the place to Istanbul and other countries after the Gotham chapter.
Frankly Miller era Batman (80s and onwards) are more my jam when it comes to reading/stories but the Bronze Age and prior stuff is classic in it's own way, I appreciate the art and general fun of some of these Brave and the Bold stories but they are far from classics story wise.
Might be more of a trend of the times/era of writing versus just that character, as he made his debut in early Silver Age Detective Comics (which I have the least exposure to when it comes to actual reading), I'd have to read more of his stories !

Aparo's handiwork is all over this with pencils and inks giving his complete look and having a sharper edge in this 1979 work. Everything on this is a winner.

Probably the most fondly remembered series that Aparo drew. Nice page.

Classic Aparo B&B page! Definitely a necessary part of any bronze age bat collection. Beautiful panels by one of the all-time greats! Congrats!

Congrats on adding this wonderful Aparo Batman page to your collection. Definitely nice enough to make any Bronze age fan envious even if it is a bit outside your typical artistic appetite... now what music goes with this page???
