Description"And the heart of hell gone forever."My first Mignola.... My first Hellboy! After saving the world in The Storm and The Fury, but sacrificing himself and Great Britain, Hellboy is dead, cast into Hell, where he finds many familiar faces, and a throne that awaits him. The Hounds of Pluto Part 2 of 2 A mummified cat, a trial in Hell, and a horrible family reunion stand in the way of Hellboy's search for a cure. Mignola is one of those artists I've always wanted but could never decide on an example. This is a powerful and poignant conclusion to a great story. "It's a haunting last page, one that lingers long after you've finished the issue." -CBR Social/Sharing |

More black, more black, more black!!!!! Not the biggest HB fan, but I do love Mignola. And when he goes nuts with the black ink like this, I'm in heaven. Congrats on your first Mig. Glad you got one with tons of ink on it.

The published page won't ever capture those fills that he does with the thinned out inks. It is unique to the originals because he knows the colorist would cover it all over.

Gorgeous art and such powerful storytelling--this is the kind of moment that really only Mignola can capture in this way. Congrats!

Gorgeous page! I really love the evolution of his art into the Hellboy in Hell period. The design of the trees for instance feel like they fit much more with the shape design of Hellboy as a character and I think moving the stories to an imaginary place like Hell really let him cut loose and design everything into a more cohesive vision of the stories he wanted to tell.

Kirby and Captain America, Ditko and Spider-Man, Mignola and Hellboy. There are some pairings that will be remembered forever.

An ideal stand-along page: it captures the character, the series, and is absolutely compelling to look at even if you have no idea who Hellboy is.
