DescriptionFunny story on this. Back in late December of 2022 Rob Hunter ran an auction for this double-page splash on E-Bay, which obviously I won. Shortly after I won I had to go on a trio, which was to have me away from home for about two weeks. Then things happened, and I found myself away from home for about two months.I get back home and am confused by this giant package waiting for me. Given everything I’d had to deal with over the proceeding weeks I’d managed to forget I’d won the auction. Here’s where it gets funny. I open the package, and in addition to the art there was a pile of signed comics, and a note from Rob. Turned out he’d forgotten to send the art and felt bad, and sent the signed comics as an apology. Well, I felt bad that he felt bad, what with me having been so busy I forgot I won the page, much less notice a delay in being shipped. So I wrote him an apology e-mail. I never heard back, and I always wondered if he read it. Hopefully we’re cool. Social/Sharing |

It might have been the Crossgen style to draw these double pagers with attention grabbing big images to define the look of the line. Lots of quality dps in Crossgen and DiVito get this one with a flashy set of characters as big as DeVito wants to draw them.

Fun fact: When Crossgen was trying to pitch titles as TV shows they used a lot of DPS art to try and sell them. Years ago a fellow showed me the art that had been created for a First TV pitch.
it's funny, because I'm sure if it got made fans would have been howling that it'd been but hered by being set in modern-day Washington DC, but that was part of the pitch.
