DescriptionThe Heart of Juliet Jones was a soap opera comic strip series that began in the 1950s and was distributed by King Features Syndicate in many newspapers. Elliot Caplin wrote and co-created the strip with Stan Drake, the original illustrator. The younger brother of Al Capp, creator of Li'l Abner, Caplin had an impressive list of titles in his own right over the course of his long career. After Stan Drake's run, Frank Bolle became the sole illustrator from 1989 until it ended in 2000. With Caplin’s passing. This newspaper strip revolved around the dramatic tales of sisters Juliet and Eve Jones in various realistic yet captivating situations. These two dailies were drawn on one board, and were a freebie from Anthony with an OAX 2025 purchase. Thanks Anthony! These two actually prompted me to pick up another pair. All are from the same Scooby-Doo-esque story arc about a haunted house and Eve getting kidnapped. Of course, in the end, we find out “old man” Silas Henshaw did it. I haven’t read the whole thing, but he probably wanted to knock it down for an amusement park or something. Social/Sharing |

And Henshaw would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!

Had no idea Al Capp had a brother that also worked on strips! love getting the knowledge, thanks! And can't complain about these fun freebies and/or super affordable pickups.

Just like Stan Lee and Larry Lieber. One brother went with a shortened pen name.

If Scooby Doo has taught anything, it's that the only thing to fear are crooked real estate developers

Juliet I've been waitin',
For so long for you to come back
How I, I'm evicted too, Juliet.
Wrapped up all Bolle dreams,
But footprints won't fill at night time.
And I'm snow glad I found Juliet.
