Description

When I got an email, out of the blue, from Gerardo's new art rep asking if I was interested in any of his new Conan published artwork I was flabbergasted.

After seeing scans from the issue I knew I needed this moment early in the book. Conan comes home to his village to find things have changed and not for the better.

The way Gerardo gets so much texture and mood with his inks is just amazing.

Then, after posting the art on CGC boards the legendary inker/artist Scott Williams commented:

"These Zaffino pages are as good or better than anything being produced in comics today. They are profoundly good."

Aw man, I'm officially jealous! All three pages are amazing but I love this one the most. Huge congrats! Did you buy these directly from Zaffino or does he have a rep that works with him? Great score!

Zaffino's work on Conan is incredible, it's a shame he didn't do more issues! Great one

Gerardo Zaffino is amazing. His work shows his penchant for scratchy, gritty lines against stark white backgrounds. He is a master at creating scenes that feel scruffy and dirty and dark. And I love it.

Commented on the other Conan pages, but missed, this one! Love the textures, and so much weight, especially in that last panel. Zaff is TALENTED. Congrats!

As a guy who was reading Conan when SAVAGE SWORD was still in the teens, I'm loving the new artists. This is a great page!
