DescriptionFor the last couple of years, there's a quiet yet palpable excitement that starts to build as we look to the new year.It starts after CAL November and continues to gain momentum in group chats and forums. The run up to OAX is a magical time. In 2025 I set up a sequential commission from Manix and, as usual, he did not disappoint. The gag combines two of my favorite collecting topics and had me tickled pink. Over the years I've picked up a fair number of Manix pieces, but for this one he reached back and referenced the very first piece I got from him. Genius. Speaking of multiple Manixes, he's probably the artist I frame the most - his vibrant colors and playful compositions are just a joy to behold. I wanted to frame this sequential piece but also preserve the reveal of the last panel. I worked with a long-time framing partner here in Boston and the result turned out better than I could have hoped. A special thanks to the Framer's Workshop in Brookline. Social/Sharing |

Behold the greatness of Manix! Bring on the "Galactus Destroys the Star Wars Universe" one shot, pretty please!!! What a fun and delightful sequence of panels, and that reveal is too good. The uniquely presented/framed display is so innovative, def nice work - go Brookline! (lived there for a year, about 20 years ago!). congrats on this awesome and unique set of pieces and let the OAX 26 excitement begin.

It's a commission that illustrates (no pun intended) Manix's skills as a storyteller, but the biggest props in this case go to YOU for coming up with the idea and having Manix execute it. Hanging the last panel around the corner was absolute brilliance!

Thanks Ruben! I must clarify though that the idea for the sequence was all Manix. I just asked for any sequential piece. I didn't even specify Star Wars or Galactus. Jiggy's crew always bring that personal touch.

You win! Not only is Manix's commission brilliant, which I expect, but the framing is visionary. You've raised the bar for creative framing. Bravo!

HA! Now -that's- a meaty commission! A sensational sequential and the framing is just as hilarious, unique, and wonderful as the gag itself. Bravo, man! The way that Manix establishes the tone here (with Galactus having his eyes closed and just casually picking stuff out of the heavens to take bites out of, like a kid in a celestial candy shop) just -kills- me. But watch out, Galactus! That's no Moon Pie... that's a space station! The only downside to that framing job is that you're now kind of locked in to living in a house that has right angles for at least a few walls... Good luck with that!! (Sincerely and seriously, though - fantastic commission, ML! Huge congrats!)

Welcome to the Manix room!
Running out of air, ain't seen the light of space
Living life scared, so I find myself gain weight
Frame art all around, be quiet, just be calm
In corner off alone like I have been all along
I don't know why, but I'm trapped right side
Welcome to the Manix room, it's my art place
Lock myself in frame, from tooth and I can't escape
When you've got nothing to lose M. Abrera sets in
And no matter what you chew, The Empire gonna let you win
Manix, Manix
Welcome to the Manix room!

So good! A true art installation. Now you have to ensure that any new house you move into has a convex corner in a prominent room to display this piece, but I think it's worth living with such constraints in order to enjoy the highest level of art day to day

The framing is really fun. Almost as much fun as the art. Was scratching my brain to see if that would work in my house and after much thought it occurred to me that no such wall layout exists here. Truly location specific. If you ever move, you may have to include it with the builfing..

Killer commission! Love seeing Manix tackling a multi-panel commission! The art is wonderful, and the gag hilarious! Your framing of the art added just the right touch of humor to pay off the gag! If CAF had a category for "Best of Framing," you would win, hands down!

Absolutely inspired art design and framing choice - so original and brilliant. It's not often that I see a frame job and think "that's a unique approach" but this turns framing ideas upside down (or around the corner). I might look forward to yyour next frame up as much as I do the art. Congrats - thanks for sharing!

One of the very first people to commission Manix! Amazing how the first commission connects to this story. How this was framed? I'm speechless! Thanks for supporting Manix!
