DescriptionUPDATE: July 18, 2023 - Massive Publishing announces this artwork will be used for a limited Ashcan cover available at SDCC 2023! The individual issues will start to hit shops on August 30th, 2023.This is Sean Murphy's original design and concepts for Surge from his creator owned book, The Plot Holes. Sean self published the book in June 2020. I absolutely love this electrifying design! These designs were published in the back of the trade paperback and hardcover books and were the first drawings of these characters. Sean noted, "This'll be the first TEAM BOOK I've ever done." Thanks to Sean and Geoff! So cool to see this as a design variant cover and part of the box art. Big thanks to my friend ML for picking up copies for me at SDCC! Social/Sharing |

Always an amazing feeling when a piece get used for something else, especially when it get's used for a cover. It's been great to see these designs used for limited edition ashcans! I love Sean's designs so easy to see why.

Electrifying is right. It's amazing how with a small effect, an artist can make us feel something on a 2d piece of paper. Great page!
