Description

A tragedy is about to unfold as officer Ishmael Ortega realizes that he has left his service revolver at home. He races to his car, but back at his apartment, his inquisitive son has already discovered an intriguing and forbidden object. The mysterious Mister M, on the sidewalk below, recognizes the danger and runs to invervene...

Yardin uses increasingly smaller panels to communicate the quickening pace as events build toward a tragic climax. Panels 10 and 12 of page 21 were digitally composited with panels 9 and 8 respectively to give the full image depicted on the published page.

This is pure storyboarding in comics and the sequence could not be more high stakes as the scope is tightened to just a few characters.
