DescriptionIncredible "Matrix style" Lone Wolf and Cub by Andrew Robinson. Andrew brilliantly layered and incorporated some printed text and images as a collage right into the painting. Cryptic strings of text trickle down the background along with the merciless and unapologetic red. "THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE," "THE CYBER BOX," etc. Take a closer look for some additional Easter eggs.I've loved this version of LW&C ever since I first saw it, but examining all the brush strokes in person gives me an even greater appreciation for it. It combines two great approaches that manga has created with the cyberpunk and the more traditional samurai tale. The face of ferocity contrasted with the innocent is striking as is that blood colored background to match his thirsty sword.

Love the pose and attitude, and that blood red really makes the figures pop. Great piece!

Speaking of keeping kids safe. I hate to be the teacher in parent/teacher meetings with this one.

Beautiful piece. Very envious. Robinson does some great paintings but this one was a stand out. Cool textures, great figure posture and totally captured the intensity of LW&C congrats.

Oh man, I GOTS to get me a Robinson piece! One of his best here, and that's saying something! Has both an old and new school vibe. Killer (pun!) pure illustration, strong graphic sense, and sublime colors. This one's got it all, as they say! Congrats!

Amazing Lone Wolf and Cub by Andrew Robinson! Love the pose of Ogami Ittō here, holding his son protective while he faces down whoever is threatening them. Love the red banner behind him, which matches the blood on his sword. Great, great pick-up!
