DescriptionThis is the other - more vintage - Swamp Thing page. It is the concluding page to the classic story by Alan Moore in DC Comics Presents that featured both the Swamp Thing and Superman (each operating individually one unbeknownst to the other, yet each having a profound impact on the other). Pencils are by Rick Veitch and the wonderful as well as lush inks are by that master, Al Williamson. All in all, a splendid and moving piece indeed.Social/Sharing |

Wow beautiful page! Never seen this issue before but I'll have to track it down now to see Williamson go crazy inking Swampy. Congrats!

Many thanks to both you and Rick. For the more modern (yet no less attractive) piece by Mike Perkins, please see:

Moore worked magic when it was a one shot story. They were often short tales that explored an aspect that had been overlooked that made them more relatable to the audience. This page has a graceful exit by both Superman and Swamp Thing after the day is won and Swamp Thing walks off into the wet and green like a hero, but in his own way.

Having been reading Saga of the Swamp Thing on a monthly basis at this time, I recall how exciting it was to find out what else Moore might be writing next and the entire comics community seemingly waited on pins and needles to see what the next thing would be. It was a very fun, exciting time to be involved in comics. When it was announced that Moore would be writing a one off story featuring Swamp Thing within the DC Presents title, it was very exciting news to see what Moore would do with the Man of Steel. Ultimately, he, along with Veitch and Williamson produced this classic which has been ingrained in fans' memories ever since. A wonderful piece of comics and comic art history!

Many thanks once again to everyone. Yes, Rubén, this is a classic story and I really love the Al Williamson inks. Alan Moore is really a superb writer.
