Description

Bob Layton was also one of the artists on the Upper Deck card set issued in connection with the Iron Man 2 movie in 2010. Different from Rittenhouse's Iron Man 2008 movie set, this time his cards were pack inserted and Bob didn't do as many. But now the industry had developed "artist proof" (AP) cards and where Bob only had three or four extra blanks from Rittenhouse, UD gave him I think 15 AP cards. So I commissioned all of them - these are my favorite top nine that he did.

Postscript: I just realized - the top 6 cards are all recreations of actual Iron Man original art (5 published and one unpublished Layton commission he turned into a print). And of those 6, I own 5 of the originals. I also own a page with a stealth armor headshot very similar to the stealth armor headshot under position number 9 in the pic.

Beautiful collection of the legendary Layton Iron Man cards! He does just as clean and flawless a job in this card size as his larger commission work.

Wow! What a cool collection of Iron Man sketch cards, all done by Bob Layton! How cool that you were able to commission so many. They look so much more awesome as a group than any one or two would appear. My favorites are #1, #6 and #9, but they're all terrific! Great pick-up, congrats!
