DescriptionDaredevil by Lee WeeksDaredevil is one of if not my favorite comic character. My first exposure to Daredevil was the PSA comic “Daredevil vs. Vapora” which was given to elementary school students to make them aware of the dangers of gasoline vapors. It was not until 1998 that I was properly was introduced to Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page and Matt Murdock’s horned alter ego, Daredevil, The Man Without Fear. Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti’s art and Kevin Smith’s words were the gateway to the character of Daredevil and their eight-issue arc “Guardian Devil” in my mind is a classic that define the Marvel Renaissance of the late 1990’s early 2000’s. They wrote it as a love letter to what it means to be a hero. I love Lee Weeks work and have tried for years to get a sketch by him. When I asked if he had room on his list and he did. I proposed a battle damaged Dardevil with his mask torn in half. That element got him intrigued and man oh man did he deliver. Social/Sharing |

Fantastic Battle-damaged Daredevil commission by the great Lee Weeks. In my opinion Weeks doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves, he's a phenomenal artist who does great work on a variety of titles. This drawing is a terrific example of his ability to take a concept and run with it. I love the way he drew DD here, scarred and practically unmasked in battle, he still looks resolute and determined to continue the fight so long as he's still standing.
