DescriptionA few weeks ago, I traded a Kitty Pryde & Lockheed piece to dedicated fan Steven Ng in exchange for a Dr. Doom by Paul Smith that Steven owned. Although both Steven and I are happy with the trade, I must confess I was a bit sad to lose the Kitty piece because it was my only one where she had a Frisbee and a playful look on her face, instead of a determined one.But Lady Luck was with me and I acquired another Kitty and Frisbee piece for my collection! My favorite detail in the piece is the way Lockheed's fangs have clamped through everyone's favorite flying disc/nuisance. Also check out Kitty's visor with the X-logo. Charles Xavier was all about the branding. Social/Sharing |

I know this is a fun thing to do with dogs. But with Lockheed involved, I just don't think it's fair to the frisbee. LOL! Anyway, glad you were able to replace a lost favorite. That's not always the case.

I actually like the cuffed jeans that was the style during the early 80's after bell bottoms went away.

I agree, FM! John Byrne created the look of the character but it is Paul Smith's Kitty that remains as the definitive take on the character. Thanks for the comment, my friend!

So much fun... it's slice-of-life moments like these that endeared a generation of fans to X-Men in the 80s.

You are absolutely right. The Claremont stories in the 1980s could be very serious, but they could also turn on a dime and be very fun and lighthearted as well. I miss those stories (and days). Thank you for the comment!

Delightful Paul Smith piece! I love the innocence of Kitty in this piece, just happily playing catch with her pet dragon! Glad you could replace the piece you traded with such a terrific drawing! Congrats!

I love Paul Smtih's Kitty and Lockheed at play pieces. This piece is one of the best!
