Way back in my early days of collecting, I purchased this unused penciled Shanna title page from the Hulk #14 magazine which I have an old scan for in this gallery. Joe Rubinstein contacted me not long after about inking it and I decided to take him up on the offer. It took a while but Joe finally got it finished and sent back to me. He did a good job but I wasn't quite happy with it at the time. The page didn't really look like a Marvel magazine page but I don't think that I knew anything about ink wash or duo shade boards at the time. I came across it lately and decided that Joe did a good regular inking job on the page. It's grown on me and I like it more now than I did then. I probably should have had someone do the title lettering on it. Even though I like it now, I would never get an unpublished pencil page inked now.

I think just the subject matter is enough to make it a Marvel Magazine piece. No way would editors allow for such titillation to arouse the senses in a regular comic. The domestication of Shanna doing the dishes is enough to get us intrigued.

What a great piece. The ink job looks awesome. I'm curious to see what the pencil work looked like.
