Oh my, this one hits big in the nostalgia department! I can't tell you how many times I went to the video store to rent Pee Wee's Big Adventure, well it was enough that I eventually owned a copy of the VHS. Goes without saying, but I was also a fan of the TV series and the quirky sequel, Big Top.�

This piece perfectly captures one of the most memorable moments from the movie. If you are unfamiliar I have provided a link below that is so worth the watch.

James brings the ink heavy on this piece. His use of hatching on the flannel shirt, and stippling on the eyes help round out a highly detailed and accurate glimpse of Marge in her finest moment. That detail is highlighted so well in the face, especially the mouth, tongue, and eyes. The use of shadow on her right side is also spot on. All of these elements together create a wonderful end result.�

I got to meet James at Heroes this year, and he was an extremely nice guy. Really happy that I had the chance to talk to him. I actually mentioned that I thought this piece was rad, so it has definitely been in the back of my mind. To say I am pleased to add to the collection would be an understatement.

Want to send a Peewee's Big Adventure sized thank you to James Callahan and Cam at Inky Knuckles! I love it.

For me it was a VHS that I recorded off TV. Love your write up! We're in the same damn place on this piece sir!

One of the best movies ever made. I had tickets to see Paul Reubens present a showing of the film at the Beacon Theater in NYC, but it never happened since it was scheduled to occur during the spring of 2020 and was never rescheduled. I'm still hoping to get to experience seeing it with a crowd one day. Love the artwork!
