Description

We agree with Garfield on this one, Jon. Just because something is an heirloom doesn't mean it's not tacky! This daily from early in the strip's run was created using ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 14" x 4".

Here is a great example from Jim Davis' Garfield from before Garfield was redesigned into the more familiar cartoon cat that we begin to see in 1984.

Fun gag as the 70's had plenty of tacky things that crept into the mid 80's. Anyone who's had a cat destroy something can relate that maybe it's all for the best.
