That's an amazing Songbird piece!  Pacheco made the most of his talent and charm to touch us with great memories of him as a person and in his work.

So very, very, sad.  While illness and death affect every one of us, the small part of us that lives in the fantasy world of comic and movies wants to believe that everyone will live long, happy, lives and die naturally and peacefully.  Having lost my father and sister to different diseases that ate away at them, I am all too familiar with that suffering.  The fact that Carlos was only about a year younger than I am is a startling realization of, not only mine, but everyone's mortality.  For his family, friends, and fans all over the world, we can only take comfort in the knowledge that his suffering finally came to an end.  Rest in peace Carlos.

I adore Songbird. That is such a wonderful shot of her in your sketchbook, but having a photo of Carlos holding it up like this is just a fun, beautiful sight. 

Pacheco was and will continue to be one of my favorite artists of all time. I wish I could have met him and gotten a sketch from him. Viewing this photo, though, helps assuage my sorrow. So thank you for sharing your experience here. This is great.
