DescriptionTransformers has been a part of my life for a really long time. Before collecting original art or comics, toys such as Transformers were my original gateway into collecting in my elementary school age. Although I’m a 90’s kid I’ve always loved the G1 series (watching the reruns and original movie) and later Beast Wars. I’ve always wanted an original piece in my collection that can represent my childhood. This is somewhat a bit difficult to do because I started reading comics at an older age (around college). I’ve read a few transformers and GI Joe titles over the years and although I greatly enjoyed some they were new and updated to the point they did not give me the feelings of my childhood. That was until I read this amazing run by DWJ. This series and DWJ have not only brought me this warm sense of nostalgia but reinvigorated my interest in reading comic books. Naturally I had to own a page from the series. This page in particular wasn’t something that I thought I’d gun for (due to minimal showing of robots), but upon seeing Optimus drifting in a manga/anime-esque fashion while dodging gunfire from Starscream in what is pretty much a splash panel; I instantly fell in love. Thanks to Felix and DWJ for another great drop!Social/Sharing |

Love this page, the middle panel is great. I get the same sense of nostalgia reading the book. DWJ understands 3 things, G1 designs are perfect, Optimus always does the honorable thing and is a gentle soul, and finally Starscream is gigantic prick.

Completely agree that DWJ truly gets TF. The book feels so true to the source yet it grounds it and modernizes it while raising the stakes.

Optimus has seen better days but he's undeterred nonetheless! A hero amongst heroes! Dynamic page from the new run. Congrats!

Fabulous page from Daniel Warren Johnson's amazing run on Transformers! DWJ really added to the look and feel of the Transformers and made it one of the hottest titles on the shelves! IMHO, his work really humanizes the Transformers more than ever and makes them seem so much more relatable. Love this page with Optimus Prime dodging gunfire from Starscream! Terrific pick-up, congrats!

Congrats on picking up a DWJ Transformers page! Love what he did with the damage to Optimus here, and while the splash image has all of his trademark speed lines/energy, the panels also show off his trademark heart/emotion. Great pickup!

I don't think anyone in the industry can convey so much energy in a static image as DWJ!
