DescriptionI picked up this beautiful Batman: Dark Victory page some years ago. While I sadly had to sell the others I had, I did keep this one. I just love this page, Bruce taking off his cowl and thinking about what would have happened if he had been honest with Harvey Dent. Regret, resentment, and "what if..." all on this great page in Tim Sale's iconic artwork. A legend gone way too soon.Social/Sharing |

Jeph and Tim excelled at the quiet moments, and this one exemplifies that in spades. You can feel the weight Bruce is carrying and his sadness for what, perhaps, could have been. Both in Tim's art and Jeph's words.

What a great observation, you are absolutely right. Those quiet moments were really a trademark of their work. I remember how blown away I was reading LH and DV for the first time.

the look of lament on the face is a great payoff for us waiting for the mask to come off for two panels. I also like the word balloons coming down in two columns. So good pulling our attention to the left in the second panel to go smoothly down to the panel below.

Great observations, they really are masters at their craft.

Never regret holding on to at least one example from classic stories - great job!
