DescriptionThe Shadow #5, pg. 6 - 1987I own the cover to this amazing issue so when a great Shadow page from the legendary Bill Sienkiewicz became available, I had to grab it. The Shadow appears in 4 of the 6 panels, with the 3rd panel being so iconic to his work. I love the humor in this page too, the stack of hats. I met Bill in 2022 and had him sign it in his iconic red ink. Social/Sharing |

Classic. That bottom corner panel is used for the cover of the 1987 DC Comics Portfolio The Shadow. So good.

The wedges of shadows and lines are incredibly energetic. They are chaotic, but somehow come together. And when they come together in a big way, Sienkiewicz comes up with a very refined work as seen here in panel 4 that completely blows you away.

Glad to see this page has a good home. Your past week of posts are showing we have the same taste. You out claimed me on 4C for a commission with the Japanese artists and then all of this beautiful art I have thought about.
The one panel of the 3/4 head shot is the cover for the portfolio. Great example from this series. 👏

Thanks Ilia! We certainly both have good taste, LOL! I was watching the Japanese artist commissions but sadly didn't get one :( I think someone else out claimed? Yes, the head shot is classic and I will post a pic of that portfolio too, good idea!
