DescriptionI've always wanted a G.I. Joe page from the first 30 or so issues and this page from way back in #3 in 1982 is just so lovely. Not only does it feature their base but also so many great characters who wind up being really important. The Joes go about their business in their secret underground base (aka The P.I.T.T.) as well as above it. This page features a very early appearance of Snake-Eyes, as well as Scarlett, Hawk, and other original Joes like Steeler and Flash. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Clipped corners, light toning, and soiling along the edges. Social/Sharing |

What makes this page so awesome is the dialogue.
I wonder whose job it was to risk their life hanging a banner for the Chaplain's Assistants' Social Tea?

Great score from such an early issue, Josh. Plus you get multiple characters, including the silent one himself, Snake Eyes!

Maybe you were caught in the blitz of cartoons, commercials, and toys too that made this a very hot comic of the 80's! Early Scarlett and Snake Eyes!

Great early Joe example! Those early issues were pure fun, and this one has great content.

Does anyone else's inner monologue immediately launch into singing "Larry Hama" in the place of " Amadeus" in the Falco song whenever Larry is mentioned or vintage G.I. Joe art is posted? Just me? Fair enough.

I'm impressed they used apostrophes correctly on the banner. Because nothing says "there is definitely a secret base here" like proper use of possessives.

It's a great page from an early issue of the series—a series that is in the nostalgic sweet spot for many collectors. It's just so fun to see!
