Description

Purchased directly from Cristen, Sergio's daughter, this outrageous piece by the master himself, the world's greatest cartoonist, is more magnificent in person than I could imagine. I've seen some great pages by Sergio, published mostly, but this really spoke to me. It's one of his recent illustrations where he really applies his humor and intricate detail to every single little monster. It's just so much fun!

Sergio Aragones is a wonder! Love this illustration of Groo surrounded by, and in fact overwhelmed by, dozens of tiny barbarians. I'm reminded of Sergio's work on Mad many years ago drawing "Mad Marginals," which were little silent gag cartoons he drew that were randomly dropped into the margins of the magazine. Great stuff!

Congratulations on a wonderful illustration by Sergio! I loved Groo and also enjoyed his Marginal Thinking pieces in Mad Magazine; this incredible piece brings back fond memories of both of these favorites!
