It's not enough to crosshatch, the deeper wash pairs with each layer to bring sophisticated illustrations to this strip. All the lovely ladies fully fleshed out bringing levels and depths of emotion. It may have so much ink that it might just bleed through the newsprint.

I agree, so much work went into this one strip I am constantly in awe.

Congratulations Josh. Viewing the original art you can now see just how amazing the work of David Wright truly is. He was a master of the sequentilal strip.

Great get. The crosshatching and detail! For me it's Teddy in Panel 1's background…

Just a great example, from the crosshatching to some great shots of Carol herself. Congrats on a fantastic pickup!

Really glad that this page ended up with you. A much more deserving owner than I would ever have been (yes, I did make an enquiry in that opening two-hour window on CAF Live). I remember reading your interesting and informative article on the new book even before you uploaded this strip. It's an especially beautiful example. Congrats.

Thanks for the kind words Simon! Glad you appreciated the article, it was such fun interviewing the guys and learning so much more about Carol Day, David Wright, and the process of making the book. I'm thrilled to find this amazing page.

All the detail David put into those three small panels is astonishing, but Carol's profile in the 3rd panel is exquisite.
