DescriptionOAX Pre-Show Commission!!!Iron Man #226 takes place during the Armor Wars saga in which Iron Man chases down armored characters that he thinks are using stolen Stark tech. In this issue he goes after the world's foremost oceanographer: STINGRAY!!! This issue originally came out in 1987 and the cover was penciled by Mark Bright with inks by Bob Layton. I have no idea where the original art for this cover is, if I will ever know, or if I'd be able to afford it even if it came to market. So I figured, why not get a recreation from the legendary Bob Layton! He not only penciled and ink it, he also hand colored it! The title and corner box, however, are printed on the board. Bob's art hasn't lost a beat over the years and this looks phenomenal!!! Social/Sharing |

An amazing color commission of a legendary issue as Tony mercilessly hunts down Stingray, only to find out he had beaten up the wrong guy. A key issue, as it demonstrates Tony's ruthlessness and obsession as he further ups the ante during the Armor Wars. Bob captures Mark's great action sequence perfectly.

It's probably his second best cover appearance, after his actual first appearance.
