DescriptionAs a kid I read comics for the stories. I never really paid much attention to the art. Of course when an artist was super-different I was able to tell and react positively or negatively (think Sam Keith doing Wolverine or something like that), but for the most part I never even noticed the difference between one artist and the next. I know that comes across as blasphemous in this community where everyone knew every artist's name by the time they were 6, but it never even occurred to me.I had no idea that the Infinity Gauntlet series was split up between Perez and Lim until I started collecting oa 4 or 5 years ago. Of course, now, the differences between them are glaring and obvious. But, for me, the bottom line is that they both kicked ass with their portrayal of Thanos. Absolutely bad-ass Thanos. And they both brought forward the awesome legacy of Jim Starlin perfectly. Here's a super cool Ron Lim page depicting a couple of amazing Thanos panels, and some cool Firelord and Cap dialogue too. I can't wait to frame it up on my Thanos wall and stare at it every day along with the Starlin and Perez Thanos pages I have up. I'm thrilled to have it! Social/Sharing |

In the first panel you can see Gamore trying to grab Ironman's helmet off, and then in the second panel you see his helmet clunking away. Pretty funny.

This page is great! If you frame it, beware Thanos' words "SUPREMECY CANNOT BE IMPRISONED!" :)
Although, it is Thanos' self-created gf Terraxia that decapitates Tony. :)

An almost identical page layout to the page you previously posted and did you notice that the top panel here looks like the top panel on the previous page suddenly "came alive"? Pretty neat!

I was working in a comic book store when this issue came out, and you wouldn't believe the crazy theories customers had as to why the switch from Perez to Lim occurred. My favorite was the notion that Perez left the book when Marvel wouldn't agree to his demand that all of the heroes who disappeared at the snap remain permanently dead. Another was that Starlin had Perez removed because he was jealous of George's talent and wanted to ruin his reputation. Regardless of the reason, Marvel couldn't have found a better replacement than Lim, as evidenced by this phenomenal page.

Wow. What a fun time to be working with comics. And I had no idea there were all those rumors swirling. Thanks for the history lesson!

I know Thanos is a big deal, but for me - I have always enjoyed the esthetique of Fire Lord and any time he appears its worth while. Big congrats on another brilliant pick up!

It didn't matter which artist did the comic because it was the event that a kid would read. Lim is not Perez and the argument of disparity is moot as this story continued to be great. This page packed the action that leaves jaws aGAPe. The action gets amplified like drawn through a meGAPhone. Every meGAPixel is used to its fullest in this scan.

So much to love about this page. Thanos' expressions steals the show for me in that last panel.

Something to see all throughout the page. Love the top shot, but that last head shot takes it over the top :) Hard to beat in OA a maniacally laughing Thanos as rendered by Lim! Love it, man. Congrats, and keep 'em coming!

IG Issue #4 was my favorite and the bottom panel always stuck with me. Thanos was fighting the best the universe had to offer and he was just laughing in their faces. Really showcased the arrogance that was his Achilles' heel and cemented for me the "Mad" part of his moniker. Congrats on the pickup.

Absolutely mind-blowingly cool! What a totally badass page by Ron Lim! That top panel is one of the best images of Thanos ever! And the closeup in the bottom panel is friggin' awesome! And if Ron Lim's pencils weren't boss enoiugh, you've got Joe Rubinstein's killer inks to top it off! Together Lim and Rubinstein really put this one out of the park...Heck, out of the solar system!
