Description

Looking over the Outback X-Men jam piece I’m working on got me thinking about the great storylines from that time period, which naturally led me to thoughts of a Deathstrike throne piece. Ok, yes, that would be cool, but should The Reavers be included? Absolutely! Which then lead me to ponder who could do a piece like this justice? One name immediately came to mind. Chris Ouellette! First of all, he’s just a pleasure to work with and secondly, he has a true knack for making techno organic characters look amazing. Chris was willing and immediately gave me two layouts to choose from. I like both. “B” featured Deathstrike a bit more, but “A” really gave a sense of camaraderie . . . a real Band of Brothers feel. Chris nailed this and even modeled the throne off of an image of the throne used by the Emperor of Japan. A complete capture of the vision in my mind. Thanks Chris!

I, also, am a huge fan of the Outback era of the X-Men, and the Reavers are a great choice for this commission series! As a matter of fact, the Reavers would be great foes for an Iron Man story! And Chris did an amazing job here! The detailed linework is incredible! And I think that you chose correctly for this layout, though the other one looked great, too!
