Description

Ad illustration by the versatile illustrator and painter Aleksander Lindeberg (1917-2015).

Lindeberg trained as a painter in the 1930s and then served as an official war artist in WWII. After the war, he worked in advertising for about twenty years. He estimated to have done about 2500 pieces of advertising art. After the mid 1960s he switched mainly to portrait painting, with a sideline in illustrating children's books.
In the summer of 2017, Lindeberg's centennial was celebrated with the publication of an illustrated biography and a retrospective exhibition. And he damn near made it to be there himself, too - he passed away in late 2015.

Very nice! I didn't know this artist. The painting is not �old school� at all (especially the head), that's funny. It doesn't look like it's from the fifties. I love it!
