DescriptionAnother SF/Western mashup by Johnny Bruck (Perry Rhodan #645, 1973). This painting was originally done for the cover of Terra 320 (1963), but was later amended/enhanced and re-used for the later 1973 Rhodan cover. For the Rhodan cover, Bruck added green pointed ears (making the guy an "alien") and a six-gun to the attacker -- making the image decidedly more "SF western" in tone. It is interesting -- one normally does not think of soft pastel colors in a "combat" image, but I love how it turned out!

The mash up works incredibly well with the human drama unfolding up close and the bright cool futurism in the back.
