DescriptionHulk has conquered the Red King's army and now sits on a makeshift throne formed from dismantled Wildebot body parts and wielding an oversized mace as his scepter. This piece serves as a foreshadowing of Hulk's eventual crowning, and triumph over the Red King. Caiera stands at his side, only recently joining Hulk as a newly converted Warbound. Both have their sights set on the Spikes now. I'd also like to think this would be a cover that serves as a hint of the ending and the story of this issue would tell us how we arrived at this "beginning".Caiera's journey from enemy to Warbound, and ultimately Hulk's queen, was one of my favorite parts of the Planet Hulk storyline. It also made the ending so much more tragic, perfectly setting up Hulk's return to Earth with a thirst for vengeance. Huge thanks as always to Kirk Dilbeck for making everything a smooth ordeal. And of course to Carlo Pagulayan for this beautiful piece. I gave very little direction, just a request that if he had to create a cover for this issue (of which he was responsible for illustrating the interiors), what he would envision. His talent was responsible for the rest. Social/Sharing |

Absolutely epic and a perfect representation of Carlo's expert pencils on the Planet Hulk arc. I love the layout and pose (the mace perspective is awesome) and that smirk seals the deal! I am very happy (and a bit green myself) for you - congratulations!

Big D energy with the giant mace out front! Pagulayan's Planet Hulk is uses the sword and sorcery barbarian genre to great effect!

The word I have for Carlo's pencils and overall composition on this one is ... exquisite. (Had to look up the spelling haha!) Really beautiful piece, congrats!

Jaw-droppingly cool drawing of Planet Hulk by the great Carlo Pagulayan! How can anyone not love this highly detailed image of the Hulk sitting on a throne made from discarded Wildebot body parts? Love that shoulder armor Hulk wears, and the huge mace he holds in his hand. Beside him stands the newly converted warbound, Caiera, who will become his Queen. The realism of the whole scene is a incredible tribute to Pagulayan's stunning pencils. Carlo really put this one out of the park! Fabulous pick-up, congrats!

This is incredible! Carlo’s Hulk drawing is so powerful, even when he’s sitting down.
