DescriptionWhile I absolutely love pure pencils, I don’t usually go after pencils only pages. Of course there are exceptions, and in the case of Gunslinger Spawn & the beauty that is Brett Booth pencils that were inked digitally…that’s too tempting to pass up!This page is from the end of the first story arc as Gunslinger Spawn walks off leaving Clown being attacked by his own Clown minions. I really love this take on the old west, walking off into the sunset, only here we see the hero walk towards us instead of away from, but the vibe is the same! Social/Sharing |

I'm not a big pure pencils guy except with pieces like this, where you can really see the fine lines and details!

It's always fun to see the process, but when it comes to pencil pages, sometimes it's incredibly clear that some artists just get the essential information on the page. Others like Brett fully render the page, so it's such a treat to see.

Classic last line on the page! With just a little luck, the kid might just make it!

Very nice splash. I love SEEING the original pencils but simply to study them. For display purposes, I much prefer the inked pieces. But as you say, when physical inks don't exist and you love a page, you don't really have a choice. It's "Buy gray or the highway!".

Agreed, when it comes to framing and displaying, this one won't make the cut, but as a page to flip to in a portfolio? That's where I'll get my enjoyment out of it. To see it up close & study.
If the inks existed separately, this one would not be in my collection. I can't do the "own one but not the other" thing. So when digitally inked, given most of Brett's pages are inked traditionally by Adelso Corina, it's a rarity & a treat to have some pure Gunslinger pencils available!

When the pencils are the only traditional art that exists for a piece it's hard to resist especially when it's nice pencil work like this!
