11x17 bristol board, inks on printed bluelines

A young Scott Summers obsessively pores over every published bit of superhero information he can get his hands on--okay wow I typed that sentence, looked over at my binder of published comic pages, and went "oh."

ANYWAYS, the detail in the building panel is great and the ol' Summers migraine is an unfortunate classic, but I really liked this page for all of the magazine and book covers in the top panel. I know a bunch of the references are going over my head, but there's a fun Ben Grimm version of Rockwell's The Runaway and a neat reference to the WWII-era Human Torch as "Horton's Golem".

My favourite cover might be the Captain America romance novel which has the amazing title of "His Mighty Shield". Oh buddy, if you only knew that dude was going to cause you so many problems in a 2012 crossover event that I don't wanna think about. 🙃

Reilly has been doing some wonderful things in comics. Such a great page and I love when artists deliver art within art. So cool to see each of those covers in the big top panel.
