DescriptionI've been wanting a color piece by Paolo for several years, since he started doing Comic Art LIVE events, coloring individual pieces, and those cute little heads. But I've always been outbid on them. But good things, as they say, come to those who wait. And I'm a patient person.So when Mark Hay sent around commissions from Paolo before OAX 2024 I think I nearly broke the keyboard responding, and there was only one request... classic Spidey. Paolo went above and beyond what I expected, creating the wall crawler in a classic repose, Spidey senses tingling, webbing in hand, an action shot, so perfectly rendered in the way only Paolo can. One of my all-time favorite commissions and so worth the wait. To make the whole experience even better, I got to chat with him at OAX 2024 and he couldn't have been a nicer more down-to-earth guy. I got to make a balloon animal for his son who might have been the toughest audience I've ever had (he had kid stoicism that said, "yeah, I don't really trust you, and I won't act like I like it, but I will take this balloon bear.") Wow. The colors are perfect. The shadows on Spidey's costume are perfect. He did not take an easy route on the bricks either. The anatomy in that pose is not an easy one to nail, but Paolo did. What a stunner!

Really neat! Spidey is the character you'd want from Rivera for a color piece because he can bring the classic look along with modern bright colors for high definition animation look. Plus he adds Spider-sense!

The work he did at OAX was all outstanding and it was great to see him working on pieces in person. Nice pick up!

Wow that is a beauty. The great colors that Rivera is famous for, and a great mix of comic and cartoon style! The pose and background really lend to the story telling of this piece - I can only imagine who is making Spidey's sense go off!

LOVE how Rivera's Spidey's got that throwback JRSR vibe while still being Rivera fresh! Great example here, and love those colors. Suh-weet OAX get - congrats!
