Description

When it came time for me to request a Roby Amor commission, I knew it had to be a favorite film, and the first that came to mind - from the 80s - was the classic Medieval adventure Ladyhawke (1985) with Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfeiffer, and a young Matthew Broderick. It also stars Leo McKern, famous for his recurring role as Number 2 in The Prisoner (also a favorite of mine, and almost a request...maybe future one, for Roby), Alfred Molina (Doc Ock anyone?), John Wood, who was famous in the 80s in films like War Games (also with Broderick). Ladyhawke was directed by Richard Donner, who directed this between Superman (1979) and Lethal Weapon (1987). It has a wonderfully lyrical synth soundtrack by Andrew Powell that absolutely shouldn't work in this period piece yet somehow strangely works perfectly. I may have owned the soundtrack on cassette.

This is outstanding! Ladyhawke is one of those movies from when I was a kid that I feel like very few people remember and deserves to been seen by more.

Absolutely! It was such a fun adventure with really great special effects, but often gets lots among Donner's other classics.

One of the great costumed fantasy epic movies of the early 80's! Lots of mist and castles for this all star ensemble!
