Description

I'm loving the latest Conan relaunch, with art by Rob De La Torre. He's clearly channeling Big John Buscema, with faces, musculature, action, and inking style inspired by the great Marvel mainstay, who was one of my favorites of the Silver and Bronze Age Marvel Bullpen. Despite all the similarities, I don't think I would ever confuse work by the two artists, and the excitement Rob brings to each page has an energy all his own, IMO. Seeing this awesome style on Conan does take me back, though!

Here's my favorite page from issue 2 showing Conan kicking some tail, while Brissa looms in the background ready to lend a blade.

Thanks to Rob for the smooth transaction! He even threw in a great Conan sketch as a thanks for the support.

Heads will roll when De La Torre does Conan, and very well, I might add!

Despite what you wrote, I'm not at all sure I'd be able to tell a De La Torre page from a Big John, so superbly does Rob do what he does here.

Nice! Definitely channeling Buscema in his prime rather than the looser Buscema Conan of the 80s and beyond. Good stuff.

A great Conan page has to have three things...a sword, blood and body parts. This, is a great Conan page! Everything I enjoy about Conan on this page and it is so well done. Amazing flow, great detail. I love it!
