DescriptionDave Cockrum was an influential comic book artist and writer who worked on the X-Men comic series during the 1970s. He is credited with creating many of the iconic X-Men characters, including Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler, as well as revitalizing the overall look and feel of the series. Cockrum’s distinctive style emphasized dynamic action scenes and intricate, detailed designs for characters and costumes. He also helped to introduce a greater diversity of characters to the X-Men, including characters from different ethnic backgrounds and nationalities.Cockrum’s contributions to the X-Men helped to transform the series into one of Marvel Comics’ most popular and enduring franchises. His work laid the groundwork for future creators, who have continued to build on the legacy he established. This dynamic Cockrum X-Men cover features the new team members he created along with Wolverine and Cyclops as they take on their classic foes the deadly Sentinels! Also, some fun things happen in this issue: - It’s the first unofficial DC crossover of a reporter named Clark Kent and Lois Lane! - It’s revealed that Wolverine's claws are a part of his body, not a part of his gloves as Len Wein initially intended - It’s the 1st cameo appearance of Amanda Sefton, ex-girlfriend of Nightcrawler and former ruler of Limbo, later named Daytripper - Jack Kirby and Stan Lee make a cameo appearance! Oh, my goodness. A classic X-Men cover from Cockrum's first run of the entire group against the Sentinels. A marvel, a museum piece.

Amazing cover!
One of those "expensive" comics I'd see displayed behind the counter as a kid. Taunted me for years--I had to wait for the Classic X-Men reprints to finally read it!
