Description

"Three Shadows" ("Trois Ombres" in French) is a graphic novel written and illustrated by the French artist (and former animator for Disney) Cyril Pedrosa.

The story is about a husband and wife, Louis and Lise, who are raising their young son, Joachim, in an unnamed rural, European landscape. There's plenty of love and joy in their family as they work on their little farm. However, everything suddenly changes when three mysterious shadows appear on the horizon haunting the family. At some point, we learn that the shadows are after the young Joachim. Louis decides to flee with Joachim in a brave, yet foolish attempt to outrun his son�s fate.

The pencil/charcoal artwork is sublime, as well as the storytelling ability of Pedrosa makes you see and feel a wide range of human emotions, from joy and love to pain and grief.

I always desired to own a page from this gorgeous graphic novel, and I believe this is an amazing one.

It's no wonder he was a Disney animator, given his skills in setting, storytelling and characterization. An excellent pencil work for a very lovely page!
