Description

Stuart Immonen doing what he does best - CRUSHING dynamic superhero art. Cyke's crew smolders (literally and figuratively) on arrival through Illyana's gate. My only regret is not having a physical word balloon reflecting the published page that has Cyke saying "To me, my X-Men" to the time displaced first class. Just a classic splash of a final page teasing the drama to come in the next issue.

I was fortunate that the Stan Lee sig here is actually in ball-point pen making it a little less obtrusive than other examples out there.

The team!  Love this crew of X folk - bada$$, especially with those uniforms.  I love the shadowed Mags helmet, and how everyone's got that "best not mess with us" look.  Immonen's sweet take on the newer looks!  Congrats!

Great image. So close in format to the cover that you probably got a great value too.  Love it!

Agreed! It would've made an excellent cover for the Uncanny book. Thanks man!

To Me My X-Men (word bubble or not) on the page is pretty epic on it's own but the piece is also super strong and boldly composed. Great page. Congrats man!

Immonen really brought it to this series and this page is a terrific example of that. Several eras of X-Men looking sharp in this splash. The facials expressions are spot on as well.

Thanks for sharing.

I really did not like Cyclops during this period - I was team Wolverine all of the way.  That being said, Immonen killed it with this splash.  Big congrats!

My fondness for Cyke was definitely tested during this era :) Thanks, Michael!

The curves, the powerful line strokes, the exciting looping done with a confidence, and smoothness of that Stan Lee signature shows him at the prime of his autograph career and should not be slept on.  The Immonen and Von Grawbadger splash has a sheen and polish that radiates power of the X.

Thanks, John! I can see how it was tempting with the whole villain and anti-hero vibe. I'm VERY fortunate I got it then!

Congratulations on getting a fabulous piece of artwork. Thankfully not ruined by a huge, inappropriately placed, Stan Lee marker signature, which has ruined so many comics and artwork. You should thank the fact that its signed in pen.

It would've been an agonizing decision if the sig was in sharpie because of how much i love the splash. I think I would've still bought it though. Sad that Stan's sig has become a sign of the greed of the people surrounding him. He deserved better than that.

A cover worthy splash! Love the this look and team. I agree that it's nice the Stan Lee signature isn't overbearing.

Ball-point pen for the win! So glad the sharpies ran dry that day!

Incredible inaugural Immonen inclusion, Eranga (can I call you "Iranga" this once, just for the alliteration? ;) )!!  A perfect "time capsule" shot of what was going on in one corner of the X-Universe at this time.  Bachalo had redesigned the costumes of all these 'New Xavier School' admins to fit the theme Bendis was going for in 'Uncanny' (bad-@$$, front-line soldiers in Cyclops's "New Mutant Revolution") and it's really cool to see Immonen's definitive "splash page" take on them (here in 'All-New').  When given the opportunity to redesign the 'All-New' costumes a ways into the run, I really love how Stuart tied 'Uncanny' and 'All-New' closer together with the uniforms of the time-displaced teens, riffing on the almost "monkish" design patterns of Emma, Magneto, and Cyclops's here (as though they are wearing t-shaped robes or doublets over their costumes) but spinning it into a lighter and more "60's futuristic" / "children of the atomic age" look.  Super cool page, man; mega-congrats on the score!

Thanks, Jason! There's no denying that even though Immonen didn't change the costume designs, he made them ALL look 50% more dangerous under his pencil. It's on of the things that struck me when i saw him draw these. Bachalo is a master illustrator but there was a sense of comic book bounciness to these when he drew them. Immonen gave them a certain ominous gravitas.

How come the men look determined and the women look angry? Is this a me thing or is this an artist thing? Is this a rorschach test?

C'mon, admit it. You would look pissed off too, if drooling male artists kept on designing costumes that drew attention to the tops of your legs, belly buttons and breasts. This site is full of wimps.

Cool guys don't look at explosions
They stride forward in their diamond covered boots
They wear jumpsuits with glitter and rhinestones
And walk away in slow motion..

If you're gonna own a page from this run... this is probably the page. Well done. Stan Lee signing in the middle of the image was... a choice. I'm sure you don't mind, though!!!
