DescriptionI lusted (LUSTED) after this piece ever since I saw it pop up as a house ad towards the tail end of X of Swords. It was EVERYWHERE - any comic site that ran an article featured this piece. So thrilled that circumstances allowed it to land in my collection. There are a ton of stellar, signature images on this piece but my personal favorite is X-23 and Sync from the Vault storyline. Storm comes in at a very close second. Asrar really exploded during his time in the X-office and he threw the kitchen sink at this piece. Social/Sharing |

I've thought how these "things to come" DPS's pack so much character and story goodness into one piece...witness exhibit A! Asrar really did go to town on it from composition to illustration to inks. Lots to pore over, which I'm sure you have, man. Big congrats!

This is an amazing piece with lots of (at the time) things to get X-cited about for upcoming events. I also really love the Synch and Wolverine (X-23) Children of the vault storyline he did in X-Men #18 and 19. So many great character bits seen here and a lot to love and enjoy, now lots of recent nostalgia.

Stellar piece! My personal favorite is Wolvie as Patch, from that memorable Mr. Fixit storyline :)

Yeah, this is pretty much the definition of a kitchen sink piece. Not sure what else you could ask for in terms of X-art. It's interesting to see the colored image, but the b&w is really the only way to appreciate this incredible drawing. Doesn't happen very often, but this is the kind of thing that almost makes me wish I was still reading comics. Every square inch of this is drool worthy. Being old school (and just plain old), I'm partial to Cyclops and Marvel Girl on the right. But the one thing I just can't seem to take my eyes off of is that incredible image of Shadow King in the upper righthand corner. Anyway, congratulations. You must be overjoyed. It's one of those pieces that you can just stare at for days or even weeks. And even when you do finally tuck it away, you have to pull it out an hour later just to see it again. LOL

Hahaha I haven't even put it into the folio yet for that very reason. Just scanning it constantly to see if there's anything I missed!

Woke up to the sound of lusting Reign
To win good Asrar and I'd think of you
And all the years you tried, it called your name
The dream has finally, has come true
It paints a picture of X days gone by
With house ad lines that your sword makes me see
It shares a lifetime of storylines
Old articles that you were thrilled to read
Time after time it’s your featured piece
Eranga’s best art day, having art in hand
No better circumstance, every member too
And through the endless fights, through every double page
I'd wanna hear you say, "It reigns over you"
Oh, whoa

An impressive promo piece! Love seeing Asar's renditions especially on the X-books. It's impressive to see how many characters he was able to pack in to this DPS.

Damn - this is one of those pieces I would go back to once or twice a week to see if it was still there...then one day *POOF* it was gone haha. Congrats Eranga!

Absolutely one to lust over! And even though it's (purportedly) one of the Seven Deadlies, I think you're still good if you steer clear of the other six, right? One of seven isn't even 15%... :)
But no one can fault you for your great taste! This is -AWESOME-! Big spreads featuring teases (or outright spoilers) of what's coming up for our favorite characters are always the -most- fun (who doesn't love poring over those?), and this one is next-level, top shelf spectacular. Brilliant pick up, Eranga! Mega congrats!

Asrar doing his own finishes here is, for me, what makes this piece as good as it is. The textures he creates with his inks are just fabulous. There's so much to take in and enjoy here. Kudos!

Asrar has to be one of the most talented artists around. We are lucky he still does a lot of work the traditional way! This will be a classic.
