Jaw-dropping cover to Uncanny X-Men #700 by Pepe Larraz! Wow, what a cool assemblage of X-Men! In a way, I'm reminded of The Marvel Handbook covers by John Byrne with all the figures moving across the wraparound cover. But Pepe has topped those, I think, with the sheer number of characters and the interesting details of what they are doing. Tops, of couse, is Magneto leading the way, pushing Professor X in his wheelchair. But then I like Deadpool on the Blackbird jet, Rouge flying with such joy, Cyclops looking fondly at Jean Grey and Lockheed hovering over Kitty Pryde. Gorgeous art, great pick-up!
It's a shame Marvel didn't go with the original idea, because that would have been pretty cool with the overlay and the different costumes on display. Still, it's a fitting tribue to the Krakoan era by the artist who helped kick it off. Huge congrats on owning a landmark (Uncanny?) X-Men cover!
