DescriptionDan is one of the artists who worked on X-Men: TAS. He has also done tons of work with Hasbro and Mondo, extending his portfolio to working on the '97 successor series. I wanted Dan to give us more modern Cyclops and Jean costumes while still having that bit of TAS magic to them. I did a bit of boo-boo and kept Dan somewhat constrained with the poses, opting for something very classic/bland, but I think the piece turned out great. It's bright, colorful, and gives each character their due. You can easily see how Dan's solid work lends itself to working in animation and production art. This is a big 11 x 17", and you can't help but want to stare at it because it's so perfect.Dan is also a great guy; he did some doodles in my Art of the TAS book, and he was nice enough to get it signed by Larry Houston and Eric Lewald at the Uncanny Experience. He's an Orlando-ite and I always mean to link up with him for a drink when I'm down there. Social/Sharing |
