Spawn #26, Page 14 - Greg Capullo (Pencils), Todd McFarlane (Inks), Neil Gaiman (Story) - This beautiful splash page from early Spawn original comic art comes from issue #26, titled �The Dark.� It features an extreme closeup of Spawn�s bewildered face, and a pulled back shot of our hero engaging in conversation with the character, Gabrielle. Neil confirmed writing three pages of this issue as a �bridge� to the Angela miniseries he was also writing, since Angela hadn�t appeared in over 15 issues of Spawn. This is the first of those three pages when Spawn is transported to Heaven to speak with Gabrielle.

This piece plays a small but infamous role in comic book industry history, as one of the issues that Neil Gaiman wrote for and created characters for the Spawn series that led to over a decade long legal battle with creator Todd McFarlane. Neil wrote and created a number of characters including Angela, Cogliostro, Medieval Spawn and Gabrielle during his run on the comics (issue #9, #26, and Angela mini-series) and fought over usage. Fortunately, things were settled between parties in 2012.

Very nice football laced Spawn face in shock featured big here! It's juxtaposed with this calm and natural serene environment in the big splash.
