DescriptionTHIS IS THE PAGE THAT STARTED IT ALL FOR ME, MY FIRST ORIGINAL COMIC ART PAGE! I WAS A 13 YEAR OLD KID WHO JUST MOVED TO FOREST HILL NY IN THE EARLY 1980'S TO FIND MY LOCAL COMIC BOOK STORE ALSO SOLD ORIGINAL ART(DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS EXISTED); THE LITTLE NEMO SHOP OWNED & RUN BY JOSEPH PARENTE, HAD BEEN AROUND SINCE THE LATE 60'S. WITH AN INITIAL DEPOSIT FROM MY DAD I PUT THIS PAGE ON LAYAWAY, 4 MONTHS LATER & PAPER DELIVERY TIPS, SAVED ALLOWANCE, & BIRTHDAY MONEY, THIS PAGE WAS MINE & HAVE HAD IT EVER SINCE. GREAT USE OF ZIP TONE BY PALMER AS ALWAYS,INKS GREATLY ENHANCE NEAL'S DYNAMIC PENCILS. I HEARD THEY'RE MAKING AN ANT-MAN MOVIE, UNLESS HE WEARS HIS GOOFY HELMET IN IT, I'LL BE DISAPPOINTED.Social/Sharing |

Wow....this Ant-man sequence is some of the very best work Adams did in comics and this is one of the best pages from that sequence. There is much that I would give to own this page but something tells me it isn't going anywhere...nor should it based on your great write-up. Congrats!

Oh my God, I've been wondering where this was for years. The "Fantastic Voyage" storyline with Pym inside the Vision is possibly my favorite Neal Adams sequence EVER. And you bought it with paper route money! What a glorious circumstance! Thanks for posting.

The "Fantastic Voyage" sequence is one of the all-time great moments in my comic-book reading memory. Further, I read this again recently when I bought the most recent reprinting of the Kree/Skrull War Saga and I thought it was as impressive today as it ever was. I so envy you that you get to be the caretaker for a page like this. Cheers!

Such incentive work by Adams, and perfectly enhanced by Palmer's inks. And a great story behind your purchase. Thanks for posting!

I love it when GREAT stories like this are shared here! So much better than hearing about someone foregoing the purchase of a vacation beach house just to buy a page.

I'm not going to even try and say anything clever. This is just a great page. Neal did some of his best work on the Avengers. That sequence is one I so remember and love. Terrific piece for your collection.

It is so easy to mention Neal's mastery of anatomy and perspective because those show in almost every single page he's touched. What this page does, a little more than some others, is to showcase Neal the storyteller, and demonstrates that when Mr. Adams was on his game, no one could touch him. Regardless of whether we are in someone's body or in the furthest reaches of space, Neal was one of the few people who could really make you feel like you are there, like he does in this page. Palmer inks are like the frosting on the sweetest of cakes. Probably the best money you spent when you were younger, and congratulations on a great acquisition.
